Let's start at the beginning, the Leicestershire branch was launched by 10 local founding members in the Spring of 1992.
Why? Well, that unique, eccentric, globally recognised yet elusive quality, 'being typically English' seems to have taken a back seat in recent years. Whilst all other cultures have their attractions, it was considered the time was right to give those many citizens in Leicestershire who wanted to celebrate the delights of our 'English' culture with those of a similar view to be given the opportunity to do so as part of the international 'Royal Society of St George'.
With an annual dairy of typically English themed and structured events at which good old English decorum, dress standards and friendliness are encouraged, members enjoy the traditional and modern variants of 'Englishness'.
